About The Position

The Show Floor Visual Designer will create imaginative, eye-catching displays of merchandise to attract the attention of customers and drive sales, by utilizing design concepts, color schemes, lighting, and display props. The Show Floor Visual Designer will work with AFW Management and the Staging team to create an inviting show floor for our customers.

Requirements

  • Interior design education or 2-5 years of visual merchandising experience required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies including but not limited to Storis, ipads, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.
  • Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
  • A pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check must be passed upon job offer.

Responsibilities

  • Create imaginative, eye-catching displays of merchandise to attract the attention of customers and drive sales, by utilizing design concepts, color schemes, lighting, and display props.
  • Work with AFW Management and the Staging team to create an inviting show floor for our customers.
  • Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Maintains brand standards for visual presentation throughout the store.
  • Work with members of the visual design, staging, and buying team to develop themes and colour schemes for displays.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.
  • Researching to get an understanding of what is needed, and coming up with design ideas.
  • Utilize basic design concepts to enhance showroom presentation.
  • Understand and interpret AFW visual merchandising tools and direction.
  • Offer solutions to store specific visual and merchandising challenges using brand standards.
  • Actively participate in annual show floor inventory scans.
  • Make certain new merchandise is displayed as soon as it is received.
  • Identify and read reports, tickets and UPC labels.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
