Individual Placement - Visitor Services Participant
About The Position
This position involves interacting with the public, providing information about the forest, answering the telephone, and relaying up-to-date conditions. The role is primarily in a front country setting where emergency services are accessible but may be delayed. SCA Members regularly interact with the public. Access to public transportation at the worksite is limited or not possible, and cell phone reception may be limited, spotty, or unavailable. The hosting organization is Stanislaus National Forest, located in Sonora, CA. The schedule for this position is from November 16, 2026, to March 6, 2027.

Responsibilities
- Answering the telephone
- Engaging with visitors at the district office
- Providing visitors with information about road, weather, and recreation conditions
- Selling partner items by using a cash register and credit card machine
- Cleaning the front desk area
