About The Position

The Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Kahului Airport. This role involves providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain. Additionally, the position includes incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill.
  • One (1) year of work experience demonstrating patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment).
  • Ability to obtain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance, which includes a Federal Criminal History Records Check. Must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application.

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (can substitute for basic experience requirement).
