About The Position

This is a visiting student position within DOE's RENEW project "Developing the Photocatalytic Workforce." The main objectives of this project are to increase our understanding of light-driven chemical reactions and to train students in the interdisciplinary field of solar photochemistry. This project involves researchers and students/trainees from three universities: Chicago State University (CSU), Norfolk State University (NSU), and Elmhurst University (EU), as well as the Solar Energy Conversion Group at Argonne National Laboratory. During this visit at Argonne National Laboratory, students will become familiar with research at a DOE National Laboratory. Activities include tours of the Argonne campus, discussions with scientists, attendance at seminars, and shadowing scientists in the laboratory.

Requirements

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months.
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with research at a DOE National Laboratory.
  • Participate in tours of the Argonne campus.
  • Talk to scientists.
  • Attend seminars.
  • Shadow scientists in the laboratory.
