About The Position

The student will assist in superconducting nanowire detector R&D. The work will consist of thin film deposition by sputtering and evaporation techniques, cleanroom device processing, including optical and electron beam lithography, and testing of device properties and performance in cryogenic conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Basic understanding of the physics of superconductors
  • Previous experience in operation of cryogenic equipment
  • Previous experience in microfabrication with cleanroom processes.
