About The Position

As a part of Mr. Vrionides' graduate research, he would like to use the specialized laser systems at Argonne occasionally. His presence on site is irregular and planned as needed. He will collaborate with current staff and postdocs in the laser lab. His financial support is currently from his teaching assistantship in Chemistry Department, Northwestern University. Education and Experience Requirements The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States. Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins. Applicants must be: o Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution. o Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or o Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.

  • Fundamental understanding of photochemistry and photophysics related to light matter interaction.
  • Basic skills of taking optical transient absorption spectroscopy using the laser system in CSE (B027 241) and data analysis to decipher the results for publication.
