About The Position

This proposed project will establish the scientific and technical foundation for a multi-year research agenda on AI-accelerated representations and visualization for 3D unstructured data. By combining Gaussian splatting, unstructured grid encoding, AI-driven optimization and VR immersion, this project will provide a new class of interactive and immersive visualization tools capable of revealing and unraveling structure, relationships, and multivariate phenomena that are inaccessible through existing visualization methods. In Year 1, we will create a prototype demonstrating visual exploration of single-variate unstructured grid volume data using an immersive VR headset.

Requirements

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Applicants must be: Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution. Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
