About The Position

The student will conduct research focused on the development of process monitoring and diagnostic strategies for the nuclear–industrial thermal interface. Building on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) of the interface, the student will help define monitoring requirements and support the design of sensor configurations capable of detecting equipment degradation and sensor faults that impact sustained operation. The work will leverage the PRO-AID equipment health monitoring framework to evaluate diagnostic performance, assess sensor effectiveness, and support real-time health monitoring concepts relevant to advanced nuclear energy systems coupled to industrial process heat applications.
