About The Position

Developing a unified biological foundation model (GenSLM-ESM) that bridges codon and amino acid modalities to capture complex relationships across biological sequences. Applying multi-modal representation learning to advance downstream bioinformatics tasks, with a specific focus on homology detection, codon usage understanding, and codon optimization. Showcasing model capabilities with experimentally validated codon optimization for synthetic biology applications.

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
