About The Position

In this project, we will perform in-situ physics-of-failure analysis of advanced power electronic devices using hard X-ray at the Advanced Photon Source (APS). We will stress devices to failure and analyze when, where, and under what conditions they fail. The project will optimize stress and control parameters to capture failure events in real-time and utilize digital twin to identify potential failure points. The project will also validate circuit boards and automation platforms used to perform failure analysis.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
• Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months.
• Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
• The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
