The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Visiting Scientist to join the laboratory of Dr. Maureen Murphy. This role will focus on studying the p53 tumor suppressor protein using chromatin biology techniques and mouse models. The lab investigates the genetics of the p53 tumor suppressor protein, specifically focusing on genetic variants of p53 found in populations of African-descent (P47S and Y107H) and Ashkenazi Jewish descent (G334R). The research aims to understand how these genetic variants of p53 affect cancer risk and the effectiveness of cancer therapy.
