The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh invites applicants for the position of full-time 12-month Visiting Scholar position. The scholar will contribute to the advancement of the Principal Investigator's research agenda in musculoskeletal mechanobiology and clinical rehabilitation research. The scholar brings prior experience in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and will expand their expertise in quantitative ultrasound techniques, including elastography, within ongoing laboratory and clinical studies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging with established competency in image acquisition and optimization. Receive advanced training in elastography techniques, including acquisition, processing, and interpretation of tendon mechanical property data. Assist in the development, refinement, and standardization of ultrasound and elastography imaging protocols. Conduct image processing, segmentation, and quantitative analysis Contribute to reliability and validation studies related to imaging methodologies Perform accurate and timely data entry into electronic databases and research management systems across multiple laboratory projects Maintain detailed documentation of imaging and data processing procedures Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with research protocols and regulatory standards Collaborate with the Principal Investigator on abstract and manuscript preparation for academic conferences and peer-reviewed journals Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing mechanistic and clinical research projects Organize and analyze data for presentations and publications Prepare tables, figures, and data visualizations Assist with manuscript revisions in response to peer review Track submission status and publication timelines Administer study protocols and procedures Collect clinical and imaging measurements as needed Track participant progress and ensure protocol adherence Coordinate with research team members, clinical staff, and collaborators Participate in laboratory and interdisciplinary team meetings Contribute intellectually to study design, methodological discussions, and future grant development
