About The Position

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking a Visiting Research Program and Operation Manager for the 988 Crisis Hub at the Jane Addams College of Social Work. UIC is a major urban public research university with a diverse student body and a strong commitment to research and community partnerships. This role will collaborate with the Principal Investigator and researchers on various aspects of research projects, from design and data collection to analysis and dissemination. The position involves coordinating program operations, managing junior staff, and maintaining program records. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and researchers to develop objectives and design of research projects and proposals.
  • Formulate and conduct research studies and analyses.
  • Perform complex data collection and study methods.
  • Analyze and evaluate research results.
  • Support analysis plans, report-writing, and dissemination of results.
  • Prepare reports including visual and narrative summaries of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Replicate, refine, and add new research approaches based on project needs.
  • Test, customize, and implement new methods and procedures.
  • Develop and write advanced, comprehensive protocols.
  • Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis.
  • Propose and implement changes as needed.
  • Identify and document relevant local resources for potential partnership within the state’s community crisis care continuum in each county/jurisdiction.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for the administration of online surveys and assessments to a statewide audience, coordinate communications, collection, and storage of survey results.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the execution of tasks, including but not limited to improving administrative and operational systems and platforms related to the program.
  • Contribute material, prepare results, and assist in the writing of research findings for publications, papers, presentations, grants, and other documents for publication.
  • Assist the principal investigator in grant and manuscript submission.
  • Build and foster relationships with providers, partners, participants, advisers, etc.
  • Participate in check-in calls with providers, partners, and committee members to document project progress, identify technical assistance needs, facilitate connections to other communities, and identify opportunities to support and advance their initiative.
  • Participate in the various learning communities and contribute to the discussions, share resources, and work to maintain vibrant engagement on the platform.
  • Coordinate and support the work of program activities such as online meetings, webinars, conference calls and in-person engagement events to accomplish project goals. This includes scheduling meetings, organizing, and managing logistics, communicating with participants, producing a pre‐meeting agenda and related materials, and documenting meeting content, results, and action steps.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports to state and national funders/partners.
  • Coordinates business and/or grant operations of the crisis continuum and its associated initiatives (590, 988, CESSA). This includes coordinating reporting activities, including administrative reports.
  • Part of a team that leads budget development and/or strategic grant planning, which includes coordinating with UIC Jane Addams administrators and state government and other partners to complete all budget development and approval functions.
  • Responsible for overall project documentation and manages junior/graduate staff personnel functions such as interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, evaluating performance, and/or developing staff, work schedules, and assignments.
  • Acts as a research/technical/administrative resource who monitors, researches, and distributes information regarding changes in policies, procedures, and grant objectives.
  • Maintain current program records and files through multiple project-specific databases and project management systems.
  • Compile information on project domains and tag and enter it into the program knowledgebase to track projects, resources, and publications relevant to the crisis continuum and its associated initiatives (590, 988, CESSA).
