About The Position

The School of Communication, in UNF's College of Arts and Sciences, is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Part-time Visiting Professor of Communication. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate effectiveness in teaching (which includes online course offerings and curriculum improvement initiatives). The position is 0.5 FTE, equating to just over 6 credit hours per semester. Position responsibilities include teaching one 3-credit hour course in the fall and one 3-credit hour course in the spring, in the School of Communication, and the remaining part of the assignment will be the initial Director of the UNF Public Speaking Center. In that role, the successful candidate will manage the following: Goal setting/pilot tutoring/assessment for the public speaking center Hire/manage GA/GTA and student tutors Identify technology needs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate effectiveness in teaching (which includes online course offerings and curriculum improvement initiatives).
  • Must report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching one 3-credit hour course in the fall and one 3-credit hour course in the spring.
  • Initial Director of the UNF Public Speaking Center.
  • Manage goal setting/pilot tutoring/assessment for the public speaking center.
  • Hire/manage GA/GTA and student tutors.
  • Identify technology needs for the public speaking center.
