The Department of Architecture and Urban Sustainability at The University of the District of Columbia, College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Architecture and Community Planning programs, with a start date of approximately August 16, 2026 and an end date of May 15, 2027. This position requires the Assistant/Associate Faculty Member to teach design studios in the undergraduate (B.S. in Architecture) program, as well as lecture and seminar courses in their area of expertise at either the undergraduate or National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited graduate (M. Arch.) program in Architecture and Community Planning. The role also involves conducting research and scholarly activities in the area of Architecture and Community Planning, establishing a research focus in areas such as urban sustainability, sustainable architecture, building technology, digital fabrication, urban design, urban planning, and the built environment. The faculty member will engage students in community-centered activities, plan and mentor research and service-learning experiences, be available on campus for advising and department service, and work with students to plan and implement leadership development opportunities. Additionally, the position requires maintaining an awareness of urban planning, urban sustainability, and urban architectural issues in the District of Columbia.
