About The Position

As a visiting professional, you will have an opportunity to participate in exciting research conducted in the Moazzami lab. You will have an opportunity to contribute to research endeavors that include data maintenance, data analysis, data compilation, and project participation. As a Visiting Fellow, you will collaborate with research faculty, staff, and students. The research project will expose you to various techniques, skills, resources, and mentorships inside Dr. Kasra Moazzami's lab. Dr. Moazzami's research focus lies at the intersection of cardiovascular and brain pathology and understanding the bidirectional relationship between heart and brain in health and disease. This focus has encompassed studies of (i) how psychological stress impacts heart and brain health, (ii) how heart health can affect cognitive function, and (iii) how the brain-heart relationship contributes to disparities in cardiovascular disease outcomes. Other research interests include understanding the effects of diabetes on the cardiovascular system and the development of innovative signal processing approaches to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Under general supervision, you will have an opportunity to collect, analyze, interpret statistical data, and prepare reports related to research projects. In addition to the science exposure in the lab, you can attend exciting lectures and divisional meetings. You will have mentorship from advanced-level scientists who will support you with technological resources as well as a spotlight on research development. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
