About The Position

The School of Computing & Engineering at Quinnipiac University is seeking candidates who share a passion for academic excellence, innovation, and student success to join the faculty as a Visiting Professor of Civil or Mechanical Engineering starting early Fall 2026. The School of Computing and Engineering offers BS and BA degrees in computer science; BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering; and MS degrees in Computer Science and cybersecurity. All BS degrees are ABET accredited. The school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms, and is dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for students through high-quality instruction, hands-on training, applied learning opportunities, and meaningful student-faculty relationships. Requirements

A PhD in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required before the start of the position
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field
Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
Valid authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach courses in hydrology/hydraulics/water resources
Ability to teach general engineering mechanics courses, such as mechanics of materials and fluid mechanics

Responsibilities

Teaching courses in several areas and at all levels of Civil Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
Guiding and mentoring students
Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests
