The Assistant Teaching Professor will be responsible for teaching design courses within the program. This includes designing scenery, projections, and/or props for mainstage season productions. The role also involves providing leadership and mentorship to students in the design area and recruiting and mentoring majors within the program's design area. Potential teaching responsibilities cover a range of subjects including scenic design, projection design and control, properties design, scenic painting, drafting, rendering, fundamentals of design, and special topics in design. Additional duties may include overseeing the paint, projections, and prop shops. Other responsibilities will be assigned based on the candidate's strengths and the program's needs. The position also requires the development of a scholarly/creative agenda in research, performance, and/or professional creative activities.
