About The Position

The Department of Teacher and Administrator Preparation in the College of Education at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor, Academic Professional Track, with a specialization in literacy studies, beginning Spring 2027. The successful applicant must be legally able to work in the United States, as sponsorship for an employment visa is not available at this time.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in literacy, reading, or curriculum and instruction with at least 18 graduate hours in literacy education by December 2026
  • Evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level
  • A minimum of 3 years of PK-12 classroom teaching experience in literacy education

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in both traditional and online formats (5-course or equivalent teaching load in the fall and spring semesters)
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Contribute to the department, college, and university’s mission through assigned service
