About The Position

Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor to teach multiple sections of BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication. Appointment begins August 17, 2026. Multiple positions may be available. If hired to teach BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication, the course is part of the required First-Year Integrated Core (FYIC) curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors. The FYIC is a four-course block that teaches students critical skills such as critical, creative, computational, and ethical thinking as well as coding, communication, and collaboration. As a FYIC teacher, you will be a part of a faculty who work together as a team to integrate these key skills across all four FYIC classes (BUS 101: Foundations of Business; BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication; ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking; and BUS 104: Introduction to Computational Thinking for Business).

Requirements

  • PhD in rhetoric and writing, communication, related business disciplines such as public relations, marketing, management, consulting or closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor.
  • Master’s degree in rhetoric and writing, communication, related business disciplines such as public relations, marketing, management, consulting or closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Instructor.
  • Teaching or work experience related to business communications.

Responsibilities

  • Teach multiple sections of BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication.
  • Work together as a team to integrate key skills across all four FYIC classes.
