About The Position

The Visitation Specialist provides oversight to children, parents and families who meet for supervised visitation. The primary function of the position is to ensure the safety and well-being of the child(ren) during supervised visitation and to provide professional-level observation during the visit, documenting the interaction according to Agency-developed guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years office/administrative experience
  • Requires criminal background checks, in addition to a driving record check.
  • Must have vehicle maintained in very good condition with certified maintenance records.
  • Must have current vehicle insurance, as well as a valid driver’s license and both must be maintained at all times.
  • Clear a Level II background screening.
  • Clear a reference check (professional and personal).
  • Clear a local background check from Duval County and the County in which you reside.
  • Clear a drug screen.
  • Provide a copy of your educational attainment on your first day of employment.
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check.
  • Provide proof of your auto insurance and maintain a minimum personal auto bodily injury liability insurance.
  • Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate that the successful candidate meets the Department of Homeland Security authorization requirements to work in the United States.

  • AA or BA Degree seeking student preferred
  • Case management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive unit requests for parent/child visitation and schedules those visits with the caregiver(s) and parent(s).
  • Works closely with the Agency transporters and their Supervisor to ensure transportation is arranged and the room is booked.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child during visitation at a JFCS facility or other designated location.
  • Ensure that the visitation sites are conducive to enhancing the visitation experience for families and children; this includes having age-appropriate toys and supplies, as well as having a safe and sanitary space to visit.
  • Display effective public contact skills, cultural sensitivity, and respect in all interactions.
  • Observe and documents visitation proceedings in an objective manner and without bias in accordance with the judicial system and Agency guidelines.
  • Should a crisis arise, intervene appropriately.
  • Complete and submit a critical incident report within established time frame, according to the notification process.
  • Attend Agency meetings as requested and appropriate.
  • Maintain mileage log and documentation in a timely manner to receive authorized travel reimbursement for services provided.
  • Assist with transporting for visitation, as needed.
  • Maintain a weekly online calendar documenting assignments.
  • Maintain the highest level of client confidentiality.
  • Will be expected to complete other tasks upon visitations cancelling, in addition to other duties as assigned.
