About The Position

The Vision Systems Technician supports production quality and equipment performance within an advanced EV battery manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated vision inspection systems to prevent quality issues and maximize equipment efficiency, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The Vision Systems Technician analyzes inspection performance, adjusts system parameters, supports equipment maintenance, and collaborates with engineering and production teams to resolve inspection system errors and improve reliability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Employees are expected to demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability to ensure safe and efficient production operations.
  • Team members must be able to work scheduled shifts; overtime as required and maintain dependable attendance in accordance with company attendance policies.
  • 1-3+ years of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, inspection systems, robotics, or industrial machinery
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment.
  • Working knowledge of automated inspection equipment and machine vision systems
  • Basic understanding of PLC communication and automated production equipment
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to document maintenance activities and inspection results accurately
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while monitoring automated equipment in a continuous production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational certificate or Associate Degree in electronics, automation, robotics, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment or automated inspection systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adjust vision inspection system parameters to support production quality and process stability
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on inspection equipment including performance checks and component replacement
  • Troubleshoot inspection system errors including vision system faults, PLC communication issues, over-detection and under-detection conditions
  • Support corrective maintenance and assist engineering teams in diagnosing recurring inspection system issues
  • Review and maintain vision inspection recipes and product specifications to ensure inspection accuracy
  • Conduct image quality verification and system calibration checks
  • Support model changeovers and implement error-proofing measures to prevent quality defects
  • Perform Vision MSA (Measurement System Analysis) to verify inspection system accuracy and repeatability
  • Manage vision system spare parts and support replacement of critical components
  • Record maintenance activities, system adjustments, and inspection performance data
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve inspection system reliability and efficiency
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Vision Equipment Operators and assist in developing their technical capabilities
  • Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
