About The Position

EDU-AIDs is seeking a qualified healthcare or related licensed professional to provide vision and hearing screenings for students at a school in Akron, Ohio. We are open to professionals with different clinical and educational backgrounds, depending on their Ohio licensure, training, experience, and scope of practice related to vision and hearing screening. Professionals with backgrounds such as Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), School Nurse, Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Audiologist, Audiology professional / Audiology Assistant, Optometrist / Vision-care professional, or other appropriately licensed or trained healthcare or school-based professionals may be considered, depending on their qualifications and screening experience.

Requirements

Active Ohio professional license or credential appropriate to the services being provided
Appropriate training and/or experience in conducting vision and/or hearing screenings
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a school environment
Current background check and required credentials, as applicable

Nice To Haves

Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct student vision and/or hearing screenings within the professional's applicable scope of practice and training
Follow applicable school and Ohio screening requirements and procedures
Accurately document and maintain screening results
Identify students who may require additional evaluation or follow-up
Communicate screening results appropriately with designated school personnel
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Follow school health, safety, and student-support procedures
Coordinate with the school and EDU-AIDs team as needed regarding screening activities
