About The Position

The Vision Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring automated vision inspection equipment within an advanced EV battery manufacturing facility. This role ensures inspection systems operate safely and efficiently to support product quality and continuous production. Vision Equipment Operators monitors equipment performance, responds to alarms, performs routine inspections, and escalates equipment issues to technicians or engineering when required. This position spends significant time on the production floor ensuring inspection equipment operates within established standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment.
  • Ability to monitor automated equipment and respond appropriately to system alarms
  • Basic understanding of automated manufacturing equipment and HMI interfaces
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete production logs and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify abnormal equipment conditions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while monitoring automated equipment in a continuous production environment.
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours: Safety glasses, Steel-toed shoes, Nitrile gloves, Ear protection, Cleanroom suit
  • Must be able to perform the following activities repeatedly for periods of up to 12 hours: Lift, push, and pull materials or equipment, Stoop, twist, and bend, Reach overhead, Sit and/or stand for extended periods, Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational certificate or Associate Degree in electronics, automation, robotics, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent relevant manufacturing experience may be considered
  • Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Experience operating automated production equipment or inspection systems preferred
  • Experience using basic hand tools and computer interfaces in an industrial environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated vision inspection equipment in accordance with operational procedures and safety standards
  • Monitor system alarms and production indicators and respond according to established escalation procedures
  • Perform routine equipment inspections to verify proper operation and identify abnormal conditions
  • Perform basic operator-level maintenance such as cleaning, visual inspection, and minor adjustments in accordance with SOPs
  • Escalate equipment faults, vision system errors, or abnormal inspection results to Vision Systems Technicians or engineering teams
  • Verify inspection results and notify production leadership of potential quality concerns
  • Maintain accurate production logs including alarms, inspections, and operational events
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to equipment operation, product inspection, and safety compliance
  • Support equipment changeovers and assist technicians during maintenance or troubleshooting activities
  • Participate in cross-training, continuous improvement initiatives and skill development programs designed to build technical competency and support potential advancement to Vision Systems Technician positions
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
