About The Position

The Virtualization Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will evaluate, design, implement, and test the deployment of on-premises virtualization solutions. They will work within an Agile Team to provide Infrastructure and Platform as a Service capability at software development and operational facilities. The role involves close collaboration with vendor technical consultants to deploy critical systems, providing key input to project schedules, identifying and mitigating risks, documenting lessons learned, and delivering regular updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 3 years or more of general work experience
  • 3 years or more of directly related experience
  • IAT Level II certification (i.e. Sec+).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a virtualization or similar role.
  • Experience with VMware installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory integration of virtualized products.
  • 2 years of VMware implementation/administration experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline.
  • Current VMware certification.
  • Experience installing and configuring the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) suite of services.
  • Applied understanding of DISA STIG and vendor recommended system/service hardening of virtualization for VMware.
  • Self-motivator with the ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Team oriented with the capability to work with other defined teams to accomplish all goals.
  • Experience with Dell Server products and services.
  • Knowledge of deploying Virtual Desktops with Citrix and Horizon.

Responsibilities
