The Virtual Special Education Teacher supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program. While this is an online school position, travel and face-to-face attendance will be required several times per year to support in-person state testing and student events. This role requires assisting with the implementation and writing of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), participating in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and maintaining student records according to federal, state, and local mandates. The teacher will also complete progress reports, work with students in various group sizes, administer assessments, and develop lesson plans to meet IEP goals. Responsibilities include teaching all subjects, scheduling and participating in IEP meetings, administering standardized tests, and collaborating with staff to improve testing results. Maintaining confidentiality, keeping accurate student records, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals are also key aspects of this role. The teacher will provide resources for classroom teachers regarding disabilities and attend professional development sessions.
