The Virtual School Spanish Teacher will engage students in an online/virtual environment using effective strategies to encourage self-discipline, time management, and continual progress, as well as social-emotional development. This role requires technological fluency in general technologies and those related to teaching, learning, and student engagement. The position demands a flexible schedule and a high degree of self-discipline and organization. The teacher will monitor and grade student work, provide feedback within 24-48 hours, and coach students and families on the use of technology for virtual instruction. This role also involves serving as a liaison between students, parents, and school staff, monitoring student progress, performing administrative tasks, facilitating technology device distribution and troubleshooting, analyzing data to inform instruction, and adhering to all district and state policies. The teacher will engage students in accordance with district-approved software and philosophy, clearly articulate deadlines and procedures, and collaborate with school counselors and administrators to address student concerns. Parent-teacher conferences will be conducted virtually at least once per semester, and the teacher will coordinate with the District Testing Coordinator for student assessments. Strategies to promote digital citizenship and a safe virtual learning environment are also expected.
