About The Position

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to join our team in Key West, FL. This position is on-site 5 days a week. The role involves managing the functionality and efficiency of computer systems, maintaining and deploying VDI thin clients, ensuring patching and security compliance, and troubleshooting VDI-related issues. The administrator will also monitor system performance, gather customer requirements, and deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years of additional experience; Associate’s degree and 2 years of additional experience). A master’s degree is equivalent to an additional 2 years of experience and a PhD is equivalent to an additional 4 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles
  • Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or other major VDI solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • FSLogix and/or HorizonView Client experience preferred
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), or related certification.
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
  • Work side-by-side with the engineer to maintain and deploy VDI thin clients
  • Work directly with SCCM/MECM to ensure patching/security compliance is handled and with the Service Desk department to troubleshoot issues with the hardware/software
  • Keeping master image and pools update and secured. Implement patches, updates, and configuration changes in coordination with cybersecurity and IT teams
  • Interface with the customer, gathering requirements and delivering solutions.
  • Troubleshoot VDI-related issues, including user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility
  • Monitor system performance and usage to identify bottlenecks or failure points and recommend improvements
