About The Position

ATG is seeking a highly skilled Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to support enterprise desktop virtualization operations in Key West, FL. This role is responsible for the architecture, implementation, administration, performance, security, and availability of VDI environments. The position will support virtual machines, desktop templates, hypervisors, host pools, capacity planning, disaster recovery, system upgrades, performance tuning, and advanced troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience in a VDI administration role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of the required Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency with VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and hypervisor technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Expert-level troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex VDI-related issues.
  • Familiarity with network, storage, and cybersecurity principles relevant to enterprise VDI environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Professional certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V), or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise VDI solutions, including virtual machines, desktop templates, host pools, and related resources.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain VDI platforms and supporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor VDI environments for performance, capacity, resource utilization, availability, and overall system health.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving virtual desktops, applications, user connectivity, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain hypervisor technologies and virtualization platforms.
  • Manage server hardware, resource allocation, system capacity, and infrastructure planning for virtual desktop environments.
  • Architect, plan, and implement desktop virtualization technologies and supporting services.
  • Perform regular backups and support disaster recovery planning and procedures for VDI components.
  • Provide expert-level support for complex VDI incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies to improve overall VDI performance.
  • Implement and maintain security controls to protect VDI systems, virtual desktops, applications, and user data.
  • Plan and execute VDI infrastructure maintenance, including software patches, security updates, platform upgrades, and system upgrades.
