About The Position

IVEP Music Lessons Program - Violin/Viola Teacher - SY 26/27. The goal of this position is to provide private violin/viola lessons to students in Wellesley Public Schools outside of school time, utilizing WPS school campuses. The role involves collaborating with WPS Performing Arts teachers to ensure alignment in teaching practices and student learning goals, maintaining records of lesson schedules and timesheets, and communicating effectively with students, families, and the IVEP program coordinator. Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

• Experience teaching violin/viola lessons to students at various stages of development.
• Ability to play violin/viola at an advanced level.
• Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I) and fingerprints.
• Passion for working with children/students.
• Basic knowledge of child growth and development.
• Knowledge of basic behavioral strategies.
• Knowledge of basic learning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide private violin/viola lessons to students outside of school time on WPS school campuses.
• Maintain a record of lesson schedules and complete timesheets in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate with students, families, and the IVEP program coordinator.
• Collaborate with WPS Performing Arts teachers where appropriate to ensure alignment in teaching practices and student learning goals.
• Ensure confidentiality regarding all personal information and educational records concerning students and their families.
• Maintain professional boundaries with students and their families.
