About The Position

Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music (LSSM) is seeking a passionate and dedicated violin instructor to take over an established studio of active string students, with immediate teaching opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to step into an existing student base, build meaningful relationships with students and families, and grow within a supportive, professional music community. With a studio of more than 40 active students, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about music education and building long-term student relationships. The role may be structured as either full-time or part-time, with immediate enrollment available and additional students expected in August.

Requirements

• Proficiency in upright bass; classical, jazz, or orchestral background a plus
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in music instruction preferred
• Ability to teach students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players
• Strong knowledge of music theory, technique, and performance fundamentals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Formal music education or equivalent professional experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging one-on-one or group upright bass lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop customized lesson plans and curricula tailored to each student's musical goals and abilities
• Track and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
• Teach proper technique, music theory, sight-reading, and ear training as applicable
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development
• Participate in recitals, studio events, and school performances as needed
• Maintain a positive, professional, and motivating classroom atmosphere
