About The Position

A Room Attendant works alone or as part of a team to clean hotel rooms. The attendant is responsible for tasks such as wiping down surfaces, cleaning windows, vacuuming, mopping, and emptying trash bins. This position requires regular and predictable attendance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and/or feel, reach with hands and/or arms, climb and/or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, talk and/or hear
Regularly lift up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds with assistance
Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds or more with assistance

Responsibilities

Cleans guest rooms and guest areas, including but not limited to; making beds; dusting; and vacuuming; cleaning bathroom; replenishing supplies, cleaning windows, mirrors and patios.
Cleans guest rooms in allotted time period as determined by management, using the proper procedures and chemicals provided by management.
Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays, as needed.
Uses the chemicals that have been provided in accordance with directions; familiarizes self with material safety data sheets and uses PPE (personal protective equipment) as necessary.
Follows procedures concerning protection against blood borne pathogens.
Ensure rooms are completed and signed off on in the appropriate time frame.
Maintains a stocked, organized and clean cart with sufficient supplies.
Documents, secures lost and found items and turns them into Lost & Found, in accordance with Company policy.
Practices safety procedures, including bending, lifting and safe use of equipment. Includes following safe procedures for protection against blood borne pathogens.
Communicates with guest in a professional and friendly manner.
Keeps supplies ready by restocking housekeeping cart at end of shift
Completes the required form, as soon as possible, upon discovering any damage to property in hotel rooms or items missing from room inventory-then submit them to Manager.
All other duties as assigned by management.
