About The Position
KFDA is located in Amarillo, the heart of West Texas, and has built a dominant station through hard work, dedication to journalism, and careful selection of its team members. The station is seeking individuals who want to make a difference. The video journalist role is an entry-level, yet critical part of the Newsroom. This position involves conducting interviews in the field with community members, shooting video of various events, and then creating and writing content for both broadcast and digital platforms. A Video Journalist will work in the field daily to create content, shooting, writing, and editing as assigned. Ideal candidates are described as ambitious, detail-oriented, organized, capable of working independently, and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting several deadlines. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
