Videographer (Hybrid) - Office of Education
About The Position
Working under the direction of the Associate Dean, Education Digital Transformation and Data Strategy and reporting directly to Manager of the Instructional Design Studio, the videographer will serve as a video producer and visual storyteller, responsible for developing creative, compelling videos which will become enduring resources used to support curriculum and program needs within the School of Medicine. The videographer will work closely with the faculty, staff, and administration to develop educational, multimedia video content for the School of Medicine’s educational programs in support of learning, teaching, assessment, and improving student outcomes. The videographer will assist with promotion and outreach of instructional design and video services and related efforts across the School of Medicine.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
- Video And/Or Multimedia Production Totaling (2 Years)
- A driver's license is not required for this position.

Responsibilities
- Conceptualizes, produces, shoots and edits high-quality digital videos that are aligned with the Office of Education’s program priorities. Videos will complement and be used alongside traditional curriculum materials, including PowerPoint slides, lecture notes, and other digital content within the learning management system and related platforms.
- Travels to on-campus and off-campus sites to shoot video.
- Collaborates with WUSM faculty and staff to provide instruction on the design and captures desktop/mobile device video and post-processing.
- Conceptualizes and produces high-quality graphics, charts, assessments, and other visual and interactive elements to enhance multimedia productions.
- Liaises with WashU Information Technology and other school videographers or technologists to solve common problems and maximize use of available tools, services, spaces, and resources.
- Takes initiative to research and evaluate video trends, video software, and multimedia tools.
- Keeps video equipment within the studio organized and in working order.
- Documents processes related to videographer role to ensure alignment and creative vision is consistent.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
