About The Position

Common Ground-USA (CG-USA) is seeking a Videographer (Independent Contractor) for its Minnesota Neighbors Campaign. This initiative aims to inspire and equip Minnesotans to work across differences. The videographer will be responsible for adapting existing filmed experiences into a campaign of videos, including four compilation videos and several narrative videos. The goal is to foster collaboration and counteract division within the state. The videographer will work closely with the Senior Manager, Public Engagement, and other stakeholders to create engaging video content that reflects the campaign's objectives and brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification
  • Proven track record as a Videographer with a strong portfolio of short-form videos, preferably for mission-driven organizations
  • Ability to creatively interpret content, develop engaging scripts, and advise clients on best practices
  • A nuanced comprehension of political violence, conflict resolution, and interconnected socio-political dynamics, viewed through a creative lens
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in using project management tools and video production tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Craft engaging scripts in collaboration with the CG-USA team
  • Plan and execute on-location production days to record scripts with CG-USA team
  • Create visually engaging elements for the videos to enhance viewers’ comprehension of the subject matter
  • Secure needed stock footage, music, and licenses for video usage
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Track and analyze project performance, managing changes, minimizing risks, and reporting on project status
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, reports, and status updates
  • Provide regular updates to senior management
  • Ensure all creative outputs align with brand guidelines
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions and creative meetings
  • Monitor industry trends and incorporate best practices
