About The Position

KSBY, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo, California, is seeking a skilled Videographer to bring visual storytelling to life across multiple platforms from its bureau in Santa Maria. The role involves capturing moments that matter to the community, from breaking news to heartwarming features, while showcasing technical expertise and creative vision.

Requirements

Proficiency with lighting and computer-based editing
Operate and maintain live equipment including cameras with live transmission capabilities and other news-gathering equipment
Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, and libel laws
Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's digital sites
Capable of working efficiently under multiple deadlines daily
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in related discipline preferred
More than two years of experience in related field preferred

Responsibilities

Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms
Operate and maintain equipment including camera, tripod, laptop, and related news-gathering devices
Work with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories
Perform other duties as assigned
