About The Position

Pickup Music is seeking a highly technical and creative Videographer to join their growing team in Los Angeles. This full-time, in-house role focuses on improving video quality and increasing the output of music education content. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in small teams, enjoys the challenge of optimizing quality while maximizing content quantity, and prefers a Monday-Friday career role with normal working hours and ownership over their work, moving away from long days on set or corporate gigs. The company is a leading music-education company with over 50,000 members, specializing in structured, long-form learning for guitar, bass, piano, and soon drums.

Requirements

Highly technical and skilled at video production.
Mastered video and lighting.
Comfortable with audio, set design, and working with talent.
Great creative sensibility.
Comfortable working in small teams.
Enjoy the creative challenge of optimizing quality while maximizing quantity of content.
Want to work in-house at a growing education technical company.
Legally able to work in the US.
Not seeking visa sponsorship.
Must be able to work in-person.

Responsibilities

Improve the quality of video production.
Release more music education content for members.
Master video and lighting, and be comfortable with audio, set design, and working with talent.
Optimize quality while maximizing quantity of content.
Learn how video is done at Pickup Music and help improve it.
Film classes and run video and audio on set.
Work on occasional larger sets, including camera operation for band session videos or YouTube videos.
Work closely with the Head of Production, producers, and the post-production team.
Participate in an iterative content production process, reviewing and improving new classes.
