The Videographer Manager - Marketing & Product Development position exists to plan, film, and edit a wide range of video projects to market Focus on the Family's programs, products, marketing, and ministry brands. This role owns the creative vision for how video presence looks, feels, and performs — modernizing our visual storytelling while staying true to mission. The role serves both corporate communications and Programs & Products marketing, producing video assets that move constituents through cultivation tracks, populate ministry websites, and power paid advertising so that families are reached, discipled, and strengthened in Christ. As the Videographer Manager, the position coordinates camera and audio for chapel, studio recordings and ensures sessions are captured cleanly and to Focus standards. The role also owns the relationships with outside videographer contractors, scheduling, briefing, and quality-checking their work so the team can scale production without sacrificing quality. Working from creative direction provided by Marketing, CRM and Product Development, the Videographer Manager carries projects from setup through edited master, including editing, graphics, audio mix, and color. The position leads and sets the standard for direct reporting videographers and contractors, ensuring every deliverable reflects the quality and mission of the ministry. As a member of the broader Focus on the Family videography team, this individual participates and sometimes runs chapel filming. This role does not oversee social media and podcast content, which sits with a separate team, but is expected to collaborate with that team to ensure we are capturing all the video content and visual story telling of the ministry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in media production or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years of hands-on video recording and editing experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both technical craft (shooting, editing, color, sound) and storytelling ability
• Experience directing camera and audio for chapel, studio, or live event filming
• Experience developing brand-aligned creative direction, not just executing briefs
• Experience partnering with marketing and/or product teams to produce content that supports campaign or product goals
• Strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple productions, teams, and deadlines
• Experience producing educational or curriculum-based video content
• Experience coordinating or directing outside videographers or production contractors
• Experience producing video for web, email cultivation, and paid advertising
• Comfortable handling sensitive, values-driven subject matter with care and nuance
• Working knowledge of Focus on the Family's mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
• Ability to operate sophisticated video recording and editing equipment, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop
• Proficiency with professional cameras, lenses, lighting, and field and studio audio capture
• Skilled in color correction, audio sweetening, motion graphics, and final post
• Strong file-management, media-organization, and backup discipline
• Ability to format and optimize video for web, email, and paid social and search channels
• Ability to coordinate and quality-check contractor deliverables
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Effective listener and clear communicator across creative and technical teams
• Competent in basic computer skills on both Mac and PC

Responsibilities

• Directs, shoots, and edits video content for brand awareness campaigns, strategic products (e.g., video-based small group curriculum), and product-specific or general marketing campaigns
• Develops and articulates a forward-looking creative vision for video — style, pacing, tone, and production quality — that modernizes how the brand is represented across formats visually remaining true to the mission and vision of Focus on the Family
• Builds and maintains a consistent visual brand identity across all video and product assets
• Manages video production budget, equipment, and vendor/freelancer relationships as needed
• Partners closely with marketing and product development teams to translate campaign goals and product requirements into compelling video assets, from concept through delivery and review metrics and engagement for ongoing optimization of video content.
• Routinely collaborates with social media and podcast video team leads to ensure consistency in brand representation across the organization and leveraging their video assets for publishing and repurposing in other areas of the ministry
• Manages end-to-end video production: pre-production planning, scripting collaboration, shoot logistics, post-production editing, color, sound, and motion graphics
• Support grassroots fundraising initiatives with video content as needed
• Stays current on video trends, production techniques, and emerging tools (including AI-assisted editing) to keep content competitive and high-quality
• Coordinates with the broader ministry videography team for seamless execution of the chapel filming, directing camera and audio capture for chapel and studio sessions from setup through clean recording
• Coordinates chapel filming and audio, confirming gear, signal, and recording redundancy before each session
• Provides technical-director duties for live and taped events as assigned
• Records and edits video for cultivation-track purposes, ministry websites, products and marketing and advertising video assets
• Organizes and edits assigned projects to completion of edited master, including editing, graphics creation, audio mastering, and color
• Ensures new products meet Focus on the Family’s video standards before distribution
• Ensures projects on the edit system are managed, labeled, and backed up per management and Enterprise Content Management standards, developing a system for proper content management to protect the assets while not driving up storage costs for raw materials.
• Owns videographer contractor relationships, scheduling and briefing outside videographers and reviewing their deliverables for quality and brand fit
• Maintains the overarching quality standard by working in tandem with the Product Development Executive Director, content owners, and outside vendors
• Liaises with Marketing, Product Development, and brand teams to scope each project, confirm objectives, and capture the footage required
• Ensures all project approvals and releases are obtained before footage is used or distributed
• Leads other videographers within the Product Development team
• Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, voice work, film, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family
