Videographer & Creative Producer

ProxSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Prox is building the AI product specialist for manufacturers. Manufacturers use Prox as a technical support and product sales tool across various platforms. The goal is to make every manufacturer's best product specialist available everywhere, instantly. This role is crucial for Prox to win by making the product obvious and the company impossible to ignore through video. The work will involve creating customer documentaries, field interviews with technicians, conference footage, founder/lifestyle content, product demos, and fast-turnaround social edits. The ideal candidate will find the story, direct shoots, make people comfortable on camera, edit quickly, and develop a recognizable visual language for the company. A significant portion of the work will occur outside the office at customer sites, trade shows, and during field calls.

Requirements

  • Strong shooter and editor capable of producing clean, watchable footage and editing it into engaging content.
  • Documentary instincts to find stories in customer visits, technician interviews, conferences, or office sessions.
  • Good taste, producing work that doesn't feel like a generic SaaS explainer, corporate brand film, or typical startup content.
  • Comfort directing founders, customers, technicians, dealers, and conference strangers without making them stiff.
  • Ability to ship same-day rough cuts, 24-48 hour social edits, and clean final cuts without a large process.
  • Field-ready capabilities: travel, film in imperfect spaces, handle noisy environments, troubleshoot gear, and capture usable footage.
  • Product curiosity: interest in how physical products work, how technicians troubleshoot, and the role of AI in field work.
  • Operationally clean: ability to manage files, footage, versions, drives, transcripts, and export settings without chaos.
  • High agency: ability to identify and capture valuable moments worth documenting.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing taste in documentary work, founder/startup content, customer story videos, trade/field/industrial footage, interview-heavy projects, fast social edits, conference/event work, or a personal YouTube/TikTok/LinkedIn portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Own video creation at Prox, including customer documentaries, field interviews, conference footage, founder/lifestyle content, product demos, and social edits.
  • Bring video from zero to one for Prox, making the problem obvious, the product feel real, and the company impossible to ignore.
  • Find the story, direct shoots, make people comfortable on camera, edit quickly, and develop a recognizable visual language.
  • Film manufacturers, field technicians, trade workers, founders, customers, conferences, and behind-the-scenes startup moments.
  • Turn customer visits, technician interviews, conferences, and office days into clear shoot plans.
  • Run camera, audio, lighting, framing, and conduct interview setups, run-and-gun conference footage, screen/product captures, and office/lifestyle footage.
  • Help non-actors speak naturally, ask good questions, find the real moment, and make technical people comfortable.
  • Cut polished short-form and mid-form videos quickly, including LinkedIn clips, documentary cuts, founder edits, product demos, event recaps, and customer stories.
  • Create hooks, selects, captions, subtitles, thumbnails, cutdowns, exports, and versioned assets for various platforms.
  • Keep footage organized, build the archive, label moments, preserve b-roll, store project files, and ensure content discoverability.
  • Work with founders, GTM, customer teams, and deployment people to turn learnings into better content, demos, and product insights.
