About The Position

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for filming and editing the video recordings made for this specific project. These functions are of high complexity and the incumbent performs them using general instruction.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of audio/video or graphic software is required.
  • Capacity to work independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of camera operation.
  • Video editing experience vital.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 Years Related Experience

Responsibilities

  • Organizes individuals for sessions - captures and edits the project event videos.
  • Provides specific audio/video support to clients.
  • Includes setting up of lighting, cameras microphones and props.
  • Creates props, cue lists and documents.
  • Coordinates lighting, sound equipment and cameras as requested.
  • Schedules rooms and/or equipment.
  • Demonstrates use of software.
  • Verifies content and submits records to the client as requested.
  • Maintains work area.

  • For example, incumbents may be asked to perform some elements of Audio/Video Assistant level “A” and/or “B” in addition to the above listed functions
