About The Position

The City of Peoria is looking for Production Room Assistants at the Peoria Sports Complex for the 2026 Arizona Fall League and 2027 Spring Training seasons. This hands-on role puts you behind the scenes of professional baseball and gives you the opportunity to help produce the gameday experience for thousands of fans. Working at the Spring Training home of TWO Major League Baseball teams—the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners—you'll gain real-world experience operating the technology that brings a professional sporting event to life. As a Production Room Assistant, you'll work directly with the stadium videoboard, audio systems, live statistics, in-game entertainment, sponsor features, and more. This is an opportunity to build valuable technical skills and gain firsthand experience in the fast-paced environment of live sports production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the operation of videoboard, audio, or production room equipment preferred.
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.
  • Work at least 3 games/15 hours per week (including one game Monday-Thursday).
  • Commit to a schedule based on your availability and arrange a substitute if needed.
  • Remain focused and composed while making real-time decisions in a fast-paced live event environment.
  • Be willing to learn new production technology, equipment, and game presentation procedures.
  • Strong knowledge working with Daktronics, Sound Director, and other production room programs (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of the procedures and flow of a baseball game (preferred).
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to change while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure.
  • An interest in sports production, broadcasting, game presentation, videoboard operations, audio, or live entertainment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on game times and changing schedules. Will include evenings and/or weekends based upon the event schedule.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the stadium sound system, videoboard, and other production room equipment during live games.
  • Coordinate and execute real-time marketing, sponsorship, and promotional features throughout the game.
  • Follow the game closely and react in real time to ensure video, audio, graphics, and entertainment elements are executed at the right moments.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and guests by following proper safety standards.
  • Assist other departments/areas as needed—teamwork is key!
