About The Position
Under direct supervision, the TV Director/Camera Operator Student Assistant will assist with ENG single- and multi-camera shoots, use video cameras ensuring quality sound and video recording, and assist with setting up lights, microphones, and studio equipment. The role also involves assisting staff with production equipment and storage, editing productions to conform to quality standards and time requirements, and helping with equipment check-out to production staff and students. Additionally, the assistant will help write scripts for local programs and campus stories, handle playback for the university’s television channel, and interact with community and university groups on local productions. Attendance at meetings and working nights and weekends may be required, along with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
- Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
- In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
- Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work
- Follow oral instructions
- Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
- Communicate effectively with all levels
- Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
