The Video Production Specialist I works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission. This role involves planning video tasks according to scheduling and client needs, and facilitating high-quality studio and field-based production and event coverage. The specialist will convert and deliver completed edited products. Key responsibilities include researching existing and emerging technologies, brainstorming and developing video concepts in cooperation with University brand initiatives, attending client meetings to coordinate video solutions, storyboarding, and scheduling video shoots. The position requires conducting field-based video production, operating portable video and audio equipment, transporting and setting up lighting and audio equipment, and performing limited troubleshooting and maintenance. Post-production tasks encompass ingesting, sorting, converting, organizing video footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustments, color correction, and final editing using Final Cut Studio Pro software and/or Adobe After Effects. The specialist is also responsible for compressing video projects for output, making them available in various formats, communicating with the marketing team during editing, and obtaining approvals on drafts and final proofs.
