About The Position

Salem News Channel (SNC) is seeking a versatile Video Producer to join their fast-growing team in Glendale, California. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities across pre-production, live production, and post-production. The ideal candidate has a passion for news, excels in a control room environment, and possesses skills in directing, switching, running prompter, and guiding talent. SNC, launched in 2021, is a leading conservative OTT/streaming platform available on various services including Sling, Apple, Samsung, Pluto, and broadcast TV.

Responsibilities

• Research, curate clips and sound bytes for shows.
• Source VO and B-roll for show topics.
• Confirm and plan live ad reads for the show daily.
• Pitch topics and book guests.
• Ensure encoder is streaming and connected to the endpoint.
• Operate the video switcher as needed.
• Manage the on-screen appearance of the host.
• Manage the show clock and segment timing.
• Write lower-third headlines.
• Assist with call-in phone lines and screening.
• Play clips and VO when called for or appropriate.
• Cut clips from the show for social media and apps.
• Create thumbnails and post clips to CMS and social pages.
• Write titles and descriptions for VOD shows.
• Ensure shows are posted for VOD and appearing on all platforms.
• Plan shows for holidays and coordinate pre-tapes.
• Assist in coordinating and setting up guest hosts for days the host is out.
• Coordinate with the Executive Network Producer and Director of Network Operations on show improvements and workflows.
• Perform all tasks assigned by the Director of Network Operations and the Executive Network Producer.
