About The Position

Austin Community College (ACC) is seeking a Video Producer to produce, direct, edit, and manage the development and production of live and recorded video programs. This role will support the student success initiatives under instructional and student services. ACC is a public two-year institution serving a multicultural population of approximately 41,000 credit students each Fall and Spring semester, committed to providing affordable access to higher education and workforce training. • Proficiency using digital video cameras of varying formats.

• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid Texas Driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Writes and composes proposals, scripts, and storyboards; reviews proposals with client to plan and develop creative solutions and treatments; identifies and clarifies communication concepts, scope, theme, audio and visual elements, budget, timeline, and priorities.
• Coordinates and performs pre-production activities such as schedules, shot sheets, crew assignments, talent acquisition, location scouting, set design, graphics preparation, and rehearsals.
• Assigns studio personnel as needed, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Coordinates and performs technical setup of studio, including set design and construction, props and wardrobe, lighting, and electronics.
• Oversees crew members during studio and location production; performs duties of director, audio technician, videographer, or grip as needed to assure production quality.
• Performs post-production activities, including scene selection, editing, graphics, special effects, music selection, and media conversion. Prepares media for distribution to the web, radio, TV, social media, and more.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of finished products with clients.
• Researches and makes purchase recommendations for video production and post-production equipment and software.
• Performs administrative duties; plans, tracks, and accounts for project expenditures, and submits reports as required. Maintains files and records.
• May produce studio live streamed shows including analysis of best delivery method, budgeting, managing the technical components, hiring and managing crews, and ensuring successful completion of the show.
