About The Position

ConsumerAffairs is seeking an energetic, creative, and focused Video Producer for an in-office position in Tulsa. Only candidates local to Tulsa will be considered. The producer will join the company’s first in-house video pod, working with a video lead and an on-camera host and script writer. The role runs shoots in the in-house studio, collaborates with outside editors, and brings their cuts in-house for final editing and quality review. The producer is also responsible for capturing and preparing the additional assets each category needs, including b-roll, ad variants, GIFs, and stills for paid advertising and lifecycle marketing. The role owns the quality of published videos and helps maintain the studio, equipment, and category asset library.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in video production.
  • A reel of videos the candidate has shot and edited, including work created independently outside of class or work.
  • Working knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio.

  • Ability to explain how YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram algorithms work and what makes viewers drop off.
  • Sharp attention to detail.
  • Organization skills sufficient to manage multiple freelancers and deadlines at once.
  • Uses AI tools to work faster.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing paid social ads or cutting ad variants.
  • Experience hiring or managing freelancers on Upwork or similar platforms.
  • After Effects or motion graphics skills.
  • Experience shooting vertical, short-form video.
  • Interest in being on camera and ability to serve as the category’s on-camera host.

Responsibilities

  • Run shoots in the Tulsa office, handling the camera, lighting, audio, set, and shot list.
  • Plan shoots to capture the full asset set, including the main video, b-roll, alternate takes for ad variants, GIFs, and stills.
  • Direct on-camera talent and catch mistakes on set before they reach the edit.
  • Help build out and maintain the studio and gear.
  • Hand off footage to outside editors with clear briefs, storyboards, and deadlines.
  • Manage outside editors, including finding, testing, onboarding, and providing feedback to them.
  • Bring editor cuts in-house and complete the final pass in Premiere Pro, including pacing, captions, graphics, sound, and color.
  • Cut and export ad variants and lifecycle assets to specifications for aspect ratios, lengths, and file sizes for paid platforms and email.
  • Quality-check every video for accuracy and brand standards before publication.
  • Export, deliver, and schedule videos according to each platform’s specifications.
  • Build and organize the category asset library—including footage, b-roll, GIFs, and images—so paid, content, and lifecycle teams can find and use assets.
  • Use AI tools to speed up rough cuts, captions, and b-roll.
