Video Producer (Level 1 Journalist, Temp-guild)
About The Position
We’re looking for a Video Producer to join our Reuters Editorial team in Los Angeles in a temporary role. Our team reports on a wide range of stories, including news, politics, immigration, technology, entertainment and sports. We also produce longer feature pieces for our broadcast and digital clients. As our Video Producer (Level 1 Journalist - Temp), you will produce, edit, write and deliver agency video stories from both office and field. You will respond quickly to major breaking news events, in a responsible manner. You will have the ability to work long hours, some weekend shifts, often under extreme pressure and unsupervised at times. You will have a sharp eye for visual news elements and video storytelling, and a thorough understanding of video technology and social media. You will also have excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience as a professional video producer, with a strong track record covering hard news
- Experience with live broadcast and technical knowledge
- Experience in broadcast or agency television newsgathering and production
- Significant experience working with multimedia and video packaging teams
- Willingness to travel to breaking news stories, often at short notice
- Strong skills in driving accuracy and speed while upholding Thomson Reuters editorial principles and policies
- Understanding needs of broadcast and digital clients, regionally and internationally
- Excellent English writing skills
