Video Producer

Standard CapitalPalo Alto, CA

About The Position

Standard Capital is hiring a Content Producer, Video to help build and operate our video content engine across Dalton + Michael and the Standard Capital YouTube channels. We are looking for someone who can help us build a serious video operation without turning the content into generic corporate media. This person will work directly with Dalton Caldwell to manage the full video production workflow: owning the content calendar, coordinating weekly shoots in Palo Alto, orchestrating production contractors, and making sure finished videos are published consistently at a high level of quality. The ideal candidate is already familiar with Dalton + Michael and understands why the series works: direct, honest, founder-focused information, practical and low on fluff.

Requirements

  • Experience producing YouTube videos, podcasts, interview shows, founder content, or other digital video formats
  • Highly organized and can manage multiple contractors and projects at once
  • Comfortable working directly with a founder/principal and turning high-level direction into execution
  • Understand YouTube as a format, including titles, thumbnails, retention, clips, Shorts, and publishing strategy
  • Strong editorial judgment and can tell when a video feels sharp, boring, too polished, too long, or off-tone
  • Familiar with Dalton + Michael and understand the tone of the show
  • Care about startups, founders, AI, and venture capital
  • Comfortable being in Palo Alto for weekly shoots
  • Low-ego, detail-oriented, fast-moving, and reliable
  • Can manage creative work without letting projects drift

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing a YouTube channel with a regular publishing cadence
  • Experience with startup, tech, investing, or founder-focused content
  • Experience managing freelance editors, thumbnail designers, or social video teams
  • Familiarity with YouTube Studio analytics
  • Strong taste in titles, thumbnails, and short-form clips
  • Experience with Riverside, Descript, Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, Frame.io, Figma, or similar tools
  • Experience building systems for content operations

Responsibilities

  • Own the content calendar across Dalton + Michael and Standard Capital video channels
  • Coordinate weekly in-person shoots at our private studio in Palo Alto
  • Work directly with Dalton on video priorities, episode ideas, publishing cadence, and content strategy
  • Manage editors, designers, and other production contractors
  • Translate creative direction into clear briefs, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track videos through every stage of production: concept, shoot, edit, review, packaging, publishing, and post-publication analysis
  • Review cuts and provide structured feedback to editors
  • Keep production organized so videos ship consistently and on schedule
  • Measure and monitor content performance, identify what is working, and work to raise the bar on quality and engagement
  • Help develop a repeatable system for turning long-form conversations into high-quality clips and social assets
