About The Position

Motorola Solutions' Creative Studio team is seeking an experienced Video Editor skilled in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite. The role involves driving creative storytelling through real-people interviews to extract emotional narratives. The editor will be responsible for delivering high-quality, impactful, and aesthetically refined videos that align with business needs and brand voice. The team culture is casual and social, yet fast-paced with an emphasis on innovation and creativity. The Video Editor will collaborate with product experts, senior leadership, and global marketers, communicating conceptual ideas based on best practices and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in post-production, ideally within critical technology, fintech, or product storytelling.
  • In-depth understanding of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of how to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to produce scripted and non-scripted content.
  • Experience in After Effects with demonstrated skills in special effects and footage manipulation.
  • Organize and optimize files for all departments through corporate software: Frame.io, GSuite, etc.
  • Practical knowledge of basic photographic and video production principles.
  • Ability to research and curate pitch decks.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills; organized and able to multitask and work under short deadlines.
  • High energy: a desire to learn and a drive to excel.
  • Passionate and motivated team player.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demo reel/portfolio required, demonstrating advanced video editing skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Advanced ability to storyboard complex video and motion stories is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Translate concepts into visual storytelling.
  • Work within established video and brand guidelines and collaborate with team members to ensure consistency.
  • Assemble raw footage and curate stories using sensitive subject matter and real people to ensure authenticity.
  • Master pacing and rhythm to build tension or elicit empathy.
  • Craft "micro-stories" (15-60 second vignettes) from long interviews that convey a complete emotional arc.
  • Understand social platforms and their unique content requirements.
  • Gauge the narrative's marketing funnel placement (Awareness, Consideration, Decision) and adjust the edit's emotional tone accordingly.
  • Perform empirical research and extract stories from video interviews.
  • Produce compelling videos driven by an emotional narrative arc from raw interview transcripts and unscripted b-roll.
  • Actively explore new ways of telling brand stories using video.
  • Help conceptualize complex stories with storyboards.
  • Inspire and bring new ideas to the team through creative thought leadership.
  • Function, adapt, and succeed in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
