Video Editor (Short-form social, paid ads, UGC)

LumimedsSt. Louis, MO
Remote

About The Position

LumiMeds is seeking a skilled Video Editor to create short-form video content across three key areas: educational content from healthcare creators, user-generated content (UGC) from customers and paid creators, and paid social advertisements. This role requires a fast-paced, detail-oriented individual who understands the nuances of short-form video, particularly within the highly regulated healthcare industry. The editor will be responsible for ensuring all content is not only engaging and compliant but also optimized for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, Meta, and YouTube. The ideal candidate will be proficient with modern editing tools, including AI-powered software, and possess a strong sense of visual storytelling and brand consistency. This is a remote-first position within a fast-growing telehealth startup.

Requirements

  • 2+ years editing short-form vertical video for social media.
  • Demonstrated experience editing paid social ads (Meta, TikTok, or YouTube), understanding hook-led structure, retention curves, and the differences between ad and organic creative.
  • Strong fluency in at least one of: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut Pro.
  • Working knowledge of AI editing tools: Descript or similar transcript-based editing, AI captioning (CapCut, Submagic, Opus Clip), AI audio cleanup (Adobe Enhance, Auphonic).
  • Comfort cutting UGC: ability to work with imperfect, multi-source footage while maintaining authenticity.
  • Captioning skills beyond auto-generated: accurate, well-timed, well-styled, readable on mute.
  • Genuine taste for what makes short-form video effective: pacing, hooks, retention, and timing.
  • Willingness to learn FDA marketing compliance basics for compounded medications and paid health advertising.
  • Portfolio with current work required.
  • Professional-level English communication skills.
  • Availability to work U.S. business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience editing paid DTC ads in healthcare, wellness, supplements, telehealth, or other regulated, performance-driven categories.
  • Familiarity with the visual language differences between educational, UGC, and ad content.
  • Experience producing ad variant trees for systematic creative testing.
  • Experience working with a brand kit and maintaining visual consistency.
  • Motion graphics skills: clean text animations, simple lower thirds, callout treatments.
  • Comfort with audio cleanup (noise reduction, leveling, music ducking).
  • Experience using AI tools responsibly in regulated contexts.
  • Working knowledge of Meta, TikTok, and YouTube ad creative specs and policy (especially health and wellness ad policies).
  • Color grading skills beyond basic correction.
  • Spanish or Tagalog fluency.
  • Experience with AI dubbing or translation tools (ElevenLabs, HeyGen, Rask).
  • Experience editing for accounts or ad accounts in the 100K+ follower or six-figure monthly ad spend range.

Responsibilities

  • Edit 12–16 short-form educational videos per month (15–90 seconds) from self-shot creator footage for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Add captions, lower thirds, callouts, on-screen text, and B-roll to educational content to strengthen the message.
  • Cut 8–15 paid ad variations per month for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, focusing on hook-led, conversion-focused content for testing.
  • Produce multiple variants of each ad concept (different hooks, CTAs, first-3-second openers) for media team testing.
  • Iterate quickly on winning ads by recutting hooks, swapping B-roll, and refreshing creative.
  • Edit UGC submissions from real customers and paid UGC creators into polished, authentic short-form content.
  • Stitch multi-clip UGC into cohesive narratives (problem, product, result framing) while adhering to compliance guidelines.
  • Use AI tools strategically to speed up production (auto-captioning, transcript-based editing, B-roll generation, voice cleanup) without compromising accuracy or compliance.
  • Apply LumiMeds brand standards consistently (fonts, colors, logo placement, end cards, disclosure formatting).
  • Implement compliance reviewer feedback on cuts and revisions.
  • Maintain organized project files and an archive of raw footage, approved B-roll, finished cuts, and ad variant trees.
  • Stay current on trends in Reels, TikTok, and paid social for the health and wellness space.

Benefits

  • Full-time (W-2) engagement.
  • Remote-first, globally distributed team.
  • Coverage for LumiMeds-specific tools, plugins, or AI tool subscriptions.
